The Himalayan Research Center is an international research hub, initiating scientific research on high mountain ecosystems and communities to develop innovative tools and techniques for facilitating practices in climate change, adaptation and global environments. The largest number of human population is living in the downstream in the mountains are always felt unsecure and threats from high mountain calamities. Located in Nepal's Himalaya region ice pond, glacier lake/river, animal and living organism and plants have been getting on the verge of extinction. To increase the engagement of local communities and leaders in climate change impact mitigation, to reduce the increasing threats from glacial Lake Outburst floods and concerns about climate impact on high mountain livelihoods and biodiversity.

It is necessary to disseminate knowledge of high mountain systems and process, and increasing global awareness of and support for threatening glacial environments among the all stakeholders and glacial watershed community. To keep up ecological diversity of nature and the relation of the culture, preserving as it is to have environmental balance established. The Himalayan Research Center is established to make people's consciousness from natural hazards and facilitated their capacities. This center shall be directed, executed and governed by this constitution has been formulated under within the Institution Registration Act, 2034 (1977 AD) of Nepal Government.
